This morning I rolled out of bed and jogged down to the nearby outdoor pool for a wake up swim. Swimming is meditative, with only the sound of water rushing by you, but requires focus to breathe correctly, and stay in a straight line, which is particularly hard for me for some reason – in open water I end up heading in a totally different direction if I’m not careful.
After a wakeup swim, relaxing in the sun for a few minutes as you dry off is the most amazing way to ease into the day. This was my second swim this spring – and I’m looking forward to more time in the water as the weather heats up.
